DIESEL TECHNICIAN, LEGACY COOP - Scottsbluff, NE

Legacy Coop in Scottsbluff, Nebraska is seeking a skilled DIESEL TECHNICIAN with 3+ years of experience to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure fleet reliability through expert troubleshooting, adherence to safety protocols and efficient service execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Diagnose & Repair: Perform advanced diagnostics on engines (Cummins, Detroit, CAT), transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, and after-treatment systems (DPF, SCR).
2. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct DOT inspections, fluid changes, brake services, and component replacements.
3. Documentation: Accurately log work orders, parts usage, and repair procedures.
4. Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA regulations, PPE standards, and shop safety protocols.
5. Mentorship: A guide to junior technicians and apprentices

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience:
   • 3-5+ years in diesel repair (heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or fleet vehicles).
   • Expertise in Class 8 trucks or relevant equipment.
2. Certifications:
   • Minimum: Valid driver’s license; EPA 609 certification (AC repair).
   • Preferred: ASE Certifications (T2-T8, L2), OEM training (e.g., Cummins, Peterbilt), or state inspection licenses.
3. Technical Skills:
   • Proficient with diagnostic tools and welding/cutting equipment.
   • Ability to read schematics and use electronic service manuals.
4. Physical Requirements:
   • Lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varied conditions (heat/cold).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CDL (Class A or B)
• Experience with hybrid/electric diesel systems
• Fabrication skills (welding, machining)
• Fleet maintenance background
